ABI 3130xl Genetic Analyzer

The ABI 3130xl is a 16-capillary electrophoresis system designed for high-throughput laboratories. It is capable of a wide range of sequencing and fragment analysis applications including microsatellite analysis, AFLP, LOH, SNP validation, and SNP screening. Samples are loaded on 96- or 384-well plates and automatically injected into the array, with only minimal amounts of DNA required for accurate analysis. The NACF uses POP-7 polymer along with an 80-cm capillary, which enables for reads of 1000bp with 98.5% accuracy.

ABI 3900 High-Throughput DNA Synthesizer

The ABI 3900 synthesizer is a high-throughput instrument that synthesizes DNA oligonucleotides with fast cycle times, low reagent consumption, and high reliability. The 3900 can synthesize 48 primers at once and has the flexibility of synthesizing at scales of 40nmol, 200nmol, and 1μmol in a single run. With cycle times shorter than 5 minutes, it has the ability to synthesize up to 288 primer-length (20mer) oligonucleotides in a ten-hour workday.

MerMade-6 DNA Synthesizer

The MerMade-6 oligonucleotide synthesizer is designed to synthesize DNA oligonucleotides in a column format using standard or modified chemistries. The instrument is capable of making a combination of standard, degenerate, and modified oligos in the same run with scales varying from 50nmol to 200μmol. Progress can be monitored in real-time using in line trityl monitors on all columns.

Beckman DU 600 Spectrophotometer

The Beckman DU 600 is a full-featured scanning UV/Vis spectrophotometer of stable beam optical design with an extended wavelength range from 190 to 1100 nm. It is configured with nucleic acid and protein assay analysis software.

NanoDrop ND-1000

The NanoDrop is a full-spectrum spectrophotometer that measures 1μl samples with high accuracy and reproducibility. It's unique sample retention technology uses surface tension alone to hold the sample in place.

ABI 7700 Sequence Detection System

This instrument is a completely integrated system for real-time detection of PCR. It includes a built in thermocycler, laser, CCD detector, and real-time detection software.
